Bottlery Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Who we are. Bottlery is made by TALCO Labs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
Who it's for. Bottlery is offered only in the United States and intended for adults 21 and older. It does not sell, deliver or recommend buying alcohol.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address and a password, or your Google or Apple sign-in. From Google we receive your email address, name and profile picture link. From Apple we receive your name and your email address (or an Apple private-relay address) if you allow it.
- Your collection. Bottles you add, with producer, vintage, region, quantity, your notes, ratings and drinking windows, and, if you enter them, purchase price, place and date. Only what you choose to enter.
- Photos. Label and cork photos you add. A photo can show more than the label, such as part of a room, a document or a person. Please frame the bottle and avoid including people or personal documents.
- Shared collections. If you invite others, members see the collection's contents and each member's email address. Members with edit rights can change entries.
- Purchases. Apple processes payment and we never see your card number. RevenueCat receives an app user ID and your subscription status so we can unlock features.
- Usage. We do not currently collect analytics or use advertising trackers in the app. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
- AI requests. See below.
AI features and who receives your data
- Label scan. The photo you take is sent to OpenAI to read the producer, vintage and region. We do not send your name or email.
- Pairing ideas. What you type and a list of bottles from your collection (an internal bottle ID, type, name, producer, vintage, region, country and status; not your notes, prices or photos) are sent to OpenAI.
- Bottle lookup. The bottle name, producer and vintage you enter go to Perplexity to look up background information. We do not send your name or email.
- OpenAI states that data sent through its API is not used to train its models by default, and that it may keep requests for a limited time for abuse monitoring.
- We keep a log of AI requests (your account ID, feature, model and a summary of the input) to run and secure the service.
- AI features ask for your permission the first time you use one. You can say no and still add bottles by hand, and you can turn AI features on or off at any time in Profile > AI features.
- AI results can be wrong. Treat them as suggestions.
Why we use it: to run your account and sync your collection, provide the AI features, unlock your subscription, keep the service secure and fix problems, and understand which features are used.
We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us: Supabase (database, sign-in, photo storage), OpenAI, Perplexity, RevenueCat, Apple, Google (if you use Google sign-in), and Supabase's email service for account emails.
Where it is stored. Our database and photos are stored with Supabase in Canada. Our AI and subscription providers process data in the United States. We offer Bottlery only in the United States.
How long we keep it. Until you delete it or delete your account. When you delete your account in the app (Profile > Account > Delete account) we delete your account, the collections you alone own, their photos, and your membership in other collections. If you signed in with Apple we also ask Apple to revoke the sign-in. A shared collection with other owners continues, and photos you added to it stay for the remaining members unless you remove them first. AI request logs are disconnected from your account when you delete it. Backups are overwritten on Supabase's regular backup schedule. Our AI and subscription providers are not purged automatically: email us and we will ask them to delete your data.
Your choices and rights. You can edit or delete entries, remove photos and delete your account in the app. If you signed in with Apple and the revocation fails, you can revoke it in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Sign in with Apple. US state residents, including in California, may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, by emailing [email protected]. We respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Security. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you as the law requires, and sooner where we can.
Children. Bottlery is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If you believe a young person has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes. We will post changes here and update the date. For material changes we will tell you in the app.
